Goals: This course title and number is used for first time or limited time course offerings aimed at the 300 level. Goals are dependent on the particular offering and must be approved by the appropriate curriculum group. The class is assigned and scheduled based on the decision of the Associate Chair.

The purpose of Special Topics is to allow the department to introduce timely courses of interest, which may or may not become permanent courses. This is especially true for courses of a new or experimental nature. The fact that the department provides this variety helps to insure a broad education.
