Bio
Charles Delahunt has over 10 years’ experience applying AI to global health challenges including malaria diagnosis, neglected tropical disease diagnosis, ultrasound, and labor monitoring. His work is focused on clinical realities and deployment. He seeks to (i) understand the particular requirements of a clinical use-case, and then (ii) translate these constraints into drivers of AI development at every stage, for example by developing clinically-relevant metrics to optimize and evaluate models. He also works to increase participation of researchers from low- and middle-income countries in the AI community.
