R. Aaron Falk received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington followed by postdoctoralfellowship at the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics. He spent 13 years in the defense and space industry at Ball Aerospace and Boeing Company. Falk founded his own company, OptoMetrix, Inc., which developed and manufactured laser based test instruments for the semiconductor industry. After 11 years he sold OptoMetrix to Quantum Focus Instruments, where he then worked as VP of new product development until retiring in June 2017. Falk has published dozens of papers in physics and engineering journals, a book chapter and multiple articles for Electronic Device Failure Analysis, and holds over 40 patents.
