Shima Abadi is a professor in the School of Oceanography and an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. She received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research focuses on acoustical signal processing in ocean sciences. Abadi has received the A. B. Wood Medal from the Institute of Acoustics and two Best Paper Awards from the Acoustical Society of America.
