ECE Industry Mentorship Program

The UW ECE Industry Mentorship Program brings together aspiring electrical and computer engineers with experienced industry professionals. This program aims to provide students with a real world perspective of the ECE field and help them navigate the transition from university to the professional world. Students will be matched with industry mentors in a small group format for career coaching and professional mentoring. Through this program, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with industry professionals and develop professional connections
  • Gain insight into specific jobs and career pathways
  • Explore organizational cultures and industry expectations
  • Learn how to craft a competitive job application through engagement inside and outside the classroom

“Participating in ECE’s industry mentorship program has provided crucial insight in preparing me for the next steps in both my academic and professional journeys. My mentor provided exceptional guidance for the BS-MS application process, particularly with crafting a compelling personal statement that highlighted my strengths and passions. Their knowledge of the job market has also given me a clearer understanding of industry trends and what skills are in demand, helping me feel more confident as I plan my academic and career path.” Adam Friesz, 2024 participant
