Yurk Dvorkin, Ph.D. student of professor Daniel Kirschen and assistant professor at New York University, was awarded a National Science Foundation Award for his work in power systems. His award will “fundamentally re-think and re-engineer the current US power grid architecture to accommodate a massive penetration level of customer-end distributed energy resources (DERs), while improving the overall reliability, resiliency, and energy efficiency of the power sector.”
