Melissa Meyer wins poster contest

Melissa Meyer recently grabbed a share of first prize for her entry at the CEDAR 2004 Student Poster Contest in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Melissa’s poster was entitled “A Two Year Summary of Field-Aligned Irregularity Observations at Sub-Auroral Latitude”. It was one of 79 entries from the national and international upper-atmospheric physics community. Congratulations Melissa!

Costas Boulis Awarded ‘Best Student Paper’

EE grad student Costas Boulis was selected for the Best Student Paper Award at the 2004 European Conference on Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases. Affiliate Prof. Goldstein wins IEEE, OSA honors

Affiliate Professor Evan Goldstein was recently elected to the rank of Fellow of the Optical Society of America “For contributions to the fundamental understanding of optically amplified multiwavelength communication systems.” He has also been named a 2004 IEEE Fellow “for contributions to optical communications.”
