Master’s & Ph.D.

Tuition rates are established by the UW Regents at the end of spring quarter. You can find complete tuition and fee information at the website of the Office of Planning and Budgeting.

Tuition & Fees

There are three quarters in the standard academic year (autumn, winter, spring); summer quarter is optional. To review the tuition rates for our graduate programs, please use the Graduate Tuition Dashboard.

A prospective international student must have financial evidence showing that they or a sponsor has sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses during the period of intended study. An estimate of annual expenses for UW international students and their dependents can be found on the International Student Services website for planning.

Funding

Master of Science

The majority of our master’s students are self-funded. However, MSEE students may apply for the few Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant positions available on a quarterly basis in ECE or other departments.

Ph.D.

All admitted Ph.D. students are funded for four years of academic study through research and teaching assistantships, fellowships, and departmental support, provided they are making satisfactory progress toward their degree.
